Hey folks, just came across this wild story where a judge actually used ChatGPT to help make a court decision. Kinda crazy to think AI is stepping into the courtroom like that! What do y'all think about relying on AI for legal rulings? Is this the future or a risky move?

Honestly, if AI can help cut down on backlog and speed up justice, I’m all for giving it a shot.
I feel like this might push lawyers and courts to get better with tech fast or get left behind.
Not sure how I feel about this. AI might help with info crunching but law’s also about human empathy and context.
If AI is gonna be used in courts, there needs to be strong oversight and clear rules on how it’s applied.
Does anyone know if the judge just used ChatGPT as a tool for ideas or fully trusted its output? That makes all the difference imo.
This opens a big can of worms about accountability. If AI messes up, who’s liable? The judge or the software maker?
Kinda reminds me of sci-fi stuff, but now it’s real. Courts using AI to make decisions sounds like a plot twist!
I’m worried about privacy too. What if sensitive case info is fed into AI without proper safeguards?
This could be a step forward or a huge mistake. Depends on how it’s implemented and monitored.
I wonder if this will be a one-off or if more judges start using AI to help with their rulings soon.
I mean, using AI like ChatGPT in courts is pretty controversial. It could speed things up but can we really trust a bot with justice?
Some folks mentioned you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending AI tools that might get used in stuff like this soon.
