Hey folks, I've been wondering if DeepSeek is actually running on ChatGPT tech or if it's something totally different? Anyone got some insights or maybe used both? Just curious how similar they really are or if DeepSeek got its own twist on things.

I tried DeepSeek and honestly, it feels quite smooth but not sure if it's ChatGPT under the hood. The responses were a bit different from what I get with ChatGPT though.
Honestly, I think whether DeepSeek uses ChatGPT or not, the market’s just gonna get flooded with similar tools soon.
I read somewhere DeepSeek actually uses a blend of OpenAI and local AI models for better control over data privacy.
I prefer DeepSeek’s interface over ChatGPT’s web app, just feels cleaner and easier to navigate imo.
ChatGPT is kinda the base for a lot of new AI apps now. Not surprised if DeepSeek leans on that tech to get rolling quickly.
I’m kinda new to all this, but if DeepSeek uses GPT, does that mean it learns from my chats too? Any privacy concerns?
Honestly, whether it's ChatGPT or not, DeepSeek has some unique features that make it stand out for me. So I’m not too worried about the backend tech.
I doubt it's purely ChatGPT. Most apps these days take GPT and fine-tune or combine with their own algorithms. DeepSeek probably has its own layers on top.
If you're into AI tools like this, you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools. They list lots of GPT-powered stuff and alternatives.
Anyone else heard if DeepSeek uses GPT-4 or an older model? I've seen some apps still on GPT-3.5 and it kinda shows.
I’m using DeepSeek daily, and sometimes it feels way faster than ChatGPT responses, so maybe there’s some optimization beyond just using GPT?
The way DeepSeek handles context over longer chats feels a bit different than ChatGPT’s usual back and forth. More concise maybe?
I’m curious if DeepSeek offers an API for developers to integrate their service, anyone knows?
Anyone else noticed some quirks when DeepSeek answers technical questions? Sometimes it's off by a little compared to ChatGPT.
