Hey folks, I've been trying out ChatGPT to get quick summaries of articles and stuff. But I'm kinda wondering, how accurate are those summaries usually? Sometimes they seem spot on, other times a bit off. Would love to hear your thoughts or experiences!

Honestly, depends on the input length. Shorter texts usually get better summaries than huge articles with lots of nuances.
Has anyone tried feeding ChatGPT multiple articles and asking it to summarize collectively? How accurate is that?
I find it really helpful for quick reviews but I never trust it blindly. Always skim or read the full thing if it’s important.
I've noticed they're pretty good for general ideas but sometimes they miss important details. So I wouldn't fully rely on them for critical info.
Is anyone else getting summaries that sound kinda generic or repetitive? Like the style is always similar no matter the topic.
Sometimes the summaries leave out the conclusion or key takeaways, which defeats the purpose a bit.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools if you wanna explore beyond ChatGPT. They have some neat stuff for summaries and more.
I think it’s important to remember that AI summaries are generated based on patterns in data, not real understanding, so errors are expected.
Are there any settings or prompts that improve summary accuracy? I feel like just asking ‘summarize’ is too vague.
I usually use ChatGPT summaries as a starting point then add my own notes after reading the full text.
Sometimes the summaries have weird info that wasn’t even in the original text, kinda like hallucinations. So watch out!
Honestly, for casual reading its fine but for research or work, I double check everything manually after using AI.
