Hey folks, I've been wondering if SafeAssign can actually spot stuff generated by ChatGPT. Like, is there any way it figures out if the text's from an AI or just a student? Would love to hear what y'all think or know about this!

I've heard mixed opinions on this. Some say SafeAssign picks up AI content easily, others say it mainly checks against existing papers and websites, so AI-generated stuff might slip through.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that might help identify AI writing better than SafeAssign.
In my experience, teachers are getting better at spotting AI-generated work by the writing style rather than relying on SafeAssign alone.
From what I've read, SafeAssign uses a database of academic papers and internet sources but doesn't analyze writing style or AI patterns.
Some folks say that if you paraphrase enough, even AI-generated text won't be flagged. But that kinda defeats the purpose, right?
Honestly, I doubt SafeAssign was built with AI detection in mind. It's mostly for catching plagiarism, not generated content.
