I doubt ChatGPT can beat Stockfish. Stockfish is a chess engine built specifically for the game, with deep calculation abilities, while ChatGPT is more of a language model.
I actually tried a game once, and ChatGPT made some decent moves but got crushed in the midgame by Stockfish’s precision.
I think people sometimes forget that ChatGPT doesn’t actually "think" chess moves; it just predicts text that looks like good moves.
