Hey folks, been wondering if ChatGPT or similar AI models could actually handle the CPA exam stuff. Anyone tried putting it through or seen its strengths and weak spots on those accounting questions? Curious about how close it gets and what it might struggle with. Let's share thoughts!

I wonder if future versions will integrate calculators or spreadsheets to boost accuracy in numeric problems.
For me, ChatGPT is a great brainstorming partner when trying to understand tricky accounting concepts but still gotta practice problems by hand.
Sometimes I feel like it’s great for refresher explanations but not for learning brand new material from scratch.
To me, ChatGPT is more like a tutor that explains stuff clearly but you still gotta learn the problem solving yourself. It can’t replace actual practice and human judgement.
I suspect it might do better on the conceptual parts like audit standards than on tax computations which can be quite complex.
Tried asking it to solve some journal entries and it was hit or miss. Sometimes it got the debits and credits right, other times it flipped them. So I wouldn’t rely on it for practice quizzes without double-checking.
I’d love to see a study guide powered by AI but tailored specifically for CPA exams with real-time updates.
Anyone noticed if it updates its knowledge on changing CPA rules and tax laws frequently enough? That’s crucial for real exam prep.
I think ChatGPT can be a great study buddy but expecting it to pass the entire CPA exam is a stretch. The exam requires detailed computations and critical thinking that AI still can’t fully replicate.
Tried feeding it old CPA exam questions and it seemed to do well on the multiple choice but stumbled on simulations that require applying multiple concepts.
Sometimes the answers it gives are too generic for the CPA exam’s detail-oriented nature. You need very specific knowledge to pass.
I read somewhere that while AI like ChatGPT can assist with explanations, the CPA exam is designed to test professional judgment and ethics too, which is tough for AI to mimic well.
I’m curious if anyone has tried timing ChatGPT on a whole section like FAR or REG. Wonder how fast and accurate it can be under exam conditions.

Honestly, I tested ChatGPT on a few practice questions and it nailed the theory parts but struggled with complex calculations. Guess it’s pretty good at concepts but not perfect for number crunching yet.
Overall, I think ChatGPT is a helpful supplement but passing CPA still requires solid human effort and understanding. AI isn’t quite there yet.
