I'm using an AI tool that integrates directly with my IDE, and it feels like my coding buddy is right there with me!
Imo, the best thing about these coding AIs is how they can suggest modern best practices you might not know about.
Anyone else feels a bit skeptical about relying too much on AI? I worry it might make us lazy or less skilled over time.
How do you guys handle AI suggesting code that might not be secure? I get worried about shortcuts it takes.
I mainly use AI to help with documentation. It’s great at summarizing what functions do and generating comments.
I've tried a couple of these AI helpers and honestly, some are pretty hit or miss. But the ones that work can save loads of time, especially for boilerplate code.
Are there any tools good at handling legacy code? Like improving or refactoring old messy projects?
Has anyone tried pairing these AI tools with voice commands? Wonder if that speeds things up even more.
Been curious if these AI tools can handle debugging code or if they're mostly for writing stuff from scratch.
I wish these tools worked offline tho, sometimes I hate having to upload code snippets to cloud services.
Does anyone know if these AI coding tools work well with less common languages? Like Rust or Go?

I've been using an AI assistant that helps generate snippets in multiple languages, and it's actually pretty neat for quick prototypes.
I think beginners can get a lot out of these AI tools, but they should still learn fundamentals first.
