Hey everyone! I've been wonderin if ChatGPT is really good for proofreading essays. Like, can it catch the usual mistakes and make stuff sound better? Anyone tried it out? Would love to hear how it works in real use, not just theory.

I tried proofreading a really long essay, and it handled it pretty well without losing context.
I've used it a couple times and it actually catches a lot of grammar stuff I miss. Not perfect tho, sometimes it changes the tone too much.
I like that it explains why something might be wrong instead of just fixing it, makes me learn more.
Just a heads up, sometimes it misses context so it might suggest weird fixes that actually make less sense.
I think it’s really helpful for non-native speakers to polish their essays before submitting.
ChatGPT sometimes overcorrects and makes sentences way longer or complicated than needed.
Does anyone know if it helps with essay structure or just grammar?
I just started using it, and honestly it saved me tons of time on catching silly mistakes.
Overall, I think it’s a great tool if you use it as a helper and not the final judge of your writing.
Honestly, I think it's a solid tool but you gotta be careful. Sometimes it suggests weird phrasing that sounds robotic.
I heard you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that do proofreading, maybe even better than chatgpt in some ways.
