Hey folks, I've been wondering if ChatGPT can actually read PDF files out loud? Kinda curious if anyone's tried it or knows a workaround. Sometimes I just wanna listen instead of reading tons of text. Let me know what you think!

Honestly, I just use dedicated apps like Adobe Reader or natural reader for aloud reading PDFs. ChatGPT is great but not really made for audio output yet.
I don’t think ChatGPT has a built-in feature to read PDFs aloud directly. You’d probably have to extract the text first and then use some TTS software.
I use ChatGPT to help summarize long PDFs after converting them to text, then use Google’s text-to-speech to listen to the summaries. Works pretty neat!
Not sure if this counts, but some AI tools can do both reading and summarizing PDFs. Oh and btw, you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that might help with this stuff.
I think the main issue is the format. PDFs can be scanned images or text-based, so ChatGPT needs text input to work with. If it’s an image, no luck unless OCR is done first.
You might want to try combining ChatGPT with some screen reader or TTS app to get the audio part done.
