Hey folks, I've been wondering if ChatGPT can actually read and understand PowerPoint presentations? Like, can it pull info or summarize slides directly? Would love to hear your experience or any tips!

Definitely a useful feature to have but still a few steps away from perfect integration.
I’m curious how it handles ppt notes versus slide text. Anyone tested that?
Would be nice if ChatGPT could generate slide decks from text too, that’d be next level.
I tried uploading a ppt to ChatGPT, but it doesn't read the slides directly. You gotta convert it to text first I think.
I heard some AI tools might soon support ppt reading natively, fingers crossed!
I was hoping chatgpt could pull out charts or diagrams from ppt too, but nope, no dice.
I wish it could read ppt files directly. That would make summarizing presentations way easier!
I tried feeding the raw ppt file to ChatGPT and it just ignored it completely. Not surprised though.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that might handle ppt files better with AI.
Sometimes I just convert ppt to google slides and then export text from there for ChatGPT.
I've been uploading ppt content by copy-pasting the slide notes. Works fine for what I need!
Honestly, sometimes just copy-pasting bullet points into chat is the fastest way.
I sometimes screenshot the slides and use OCR to get text then chatgpt helps me with that text.
Not sure if this helps, but some platforms integrating ChatGPT have plugins to read ppt content automatically.
I've used third party apps that integrate OpenAI to extract ppt content and then summarize it. Pretty neat!
ChatGPT can help you rewrite your slide text if you paste it here tho, that’s pretty handy.
If you want summaries, you’ll need to give it the text content. The file itself is like a container ChatGPT can’t open.
Anyone know if GPT-4 has improved on this?
You can try converting your ppt to a pdf and then extract text from there to give ChatGPT something to work with.
