Hey folks, I've been curious about whether ChatGPT can actually watch videos and give a summary. I mean, it’s great at text stuff, but what about video content? Anyone tried or knows how it works with vids? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Maybe one day we'll just upload a vid and get an instant summary directly from ChatGPT. Fingers crossed!
If you want to automate it, combining video-to-text tools with ChatGPT is your best bet.
Anyone tried using ChatGPT with video subtitles and how accurate are summaries?
Afaik, ChatGPT itself can't watch videos since it's text-based, but you can feed it transcripts or descriptions to get summaries.
I've tried feeding detailed descriptions of video content to ChatGPT, and it does a neat job summarizing.
Some third-party apps integrate GPT with video analysis, but they’re separate tools working together.
I once tried uploading a YouTube transcript to ChatGPT and it gave a nice summary, so transcripts are the way to go!
ChatGPT doesn’t process video frames or audio natively, so it can’t watch or analyze vids directly.
For now, I just copy the captions or scripts from videos and let ChatGPT do its magic.
I guess for now the best bet is transcripts or captions, which ChatGPT can summarize nicely.
Thanks everyone, this helped clear up what ChatGPT can and can’t do with videos right now.
I wonder if future versions will handle video input directly, that’d be awesome.
Honestly, would be cool if ChatGPT could combine video, audio, and text to give summaries in the future.
Be careful though, summaries might miss nuances if the source text is too long or complex.
Does anyone know if OpenAI plans to add video input to ChatGPT anytime soon?
I've seen some tools that combine video analysis with GPT to summarize, but ChatGPT alone doesn’t handle video files.
I’m just amazed how well it summarizes text from video scripts, makes content consumption faster.
