Just to throw this out there, you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools if you're curious about how different AI handle data. Might help ease your mind!
I tried to keep some ideas vague when using ChatGPT just in case, but honestly, it’s been super helpful for brainstorming without giving away everything.
Honestly tho, if you're sharing super original ideas, maybe better to keep them offline till they're protected legally or something.
I think the fear comes from not fully understanding how AI works. Being cautious is smart, but paranoia can stop useful stuff too.
I've read OpenAI has strict privacy policies and doesn't use your chat data to train models unless you give permission. So that should ease some concerns.
I think as long as you don’t share super confidential stuff, it’s pretty safe. But yeah, always good to read privacy policies to be sure.
Honestly, I don't think it steals ideas. From what I understand, it just processes info to generate answers but doesn't save or claim ownership of ideas you share.
From a tech perspective, ChatGPT generates responses based on patterns, not by recalling your specific input, so it’s not stealing but remixing learned info.
Also, remember that AI like ChatGPT doesn't have personal memory between sessions. So technically, it can't steal ideas because it doesn't store them long term.
If you ask me, the real risk is more about how AI can replicate styles or ideas broadly, not stealing your exact stuff.
Sometimes AI might generate ideas similar to yours purely by chance cause of how it’s trained on tons of data, not cause it’s stealing anything.
Sometimes I wonder if sharing unique ideas with AI is safe or if it might show up elsewhere. Anyone got examples or proof either way?
I get why people are worried tho. Sometimes it feels like the AI is kinda repeating stuff from previous chats, which makes you wonder if it's holding onto what you say.
