Hey folks, I've been curious about how many files you actually can upload when using ChatGPT. Like, is there a cap or something? Anyone tested it out or knows the deal? Would appreciate any insights or experiences you got!

I haven't found any official documentation on the exact limit, which is kinda frustrating. Wish they made that clearer.
I did some testing with various file types and it looks like the system counts some files as heavier than others towards the limit, like videos vs docs.
For those searching for AI tools that might help with this, you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that might integrate smoothly with file uploads.
Not sure about exact numbers but if you upload too many files at once, it slows things down a lot. Better to batch them in smaller groups.
I tried uploading a bunch of files last week and hit a limit around 20 files in one go. Not sure if it's a strict cap or some kind of size restriction though.
From what I've gathered, you can upload multiple files but total size is capped around 100MB in some setups. Anyone else got different numbers?
Honestly, it felt like around 30 files max for me but someone said they got to 50 somehow. So it's kinda fuzzy.
I think it also depends on the version or platform you're using. Like, some integrations might have stricter limits than others.
I always just upload a zip file with everything inside to avoid dealing with limits on number of files.
