If you're having trouble, the ChatGPT subreddit sometimes has updated advice on cancelling or subscription tricks too.
I tried cancelling but the option wasn’t showing up on my app, only on the desktop site. Maybe try logging in on a browser?
Is there any way to get a refund if you cancel immediately after subscribing?
I just want to add that using the desktop version for managing subscriptions always worked better for me than the mobile app.
Do you guys think it’s better to pause or cancel if you just wanna take a break? Not sure if that’s an option.
If you cancel mid-billing period, you still get access until it ends, but no refund for the unused time usually.
Make sure you check your email after cancelling. They usually send a confirmation that your subscription is ending. I missed that once and kept getting billed!
Make sure after cancelling, you log out and back in to see if the subscription status updates, sometimes it takes a refresh.
Honestly, I thought it would be super complicated but it was a 2-minute job once I got to the right place in the settings.
Anyone know if deleting your account also cancels the subscription? Kinda confused about that part.
Just a heads up, if you signed up through the app store like Apple or Google, you might have to cancel via the app store subscription settings, not on the ChatGPT site itself.
Yeah, I went through this last month. You just gotta head into your account settings, find the subscription tab, and there should be an option to cancel. It’s kinda hidden but not too bad once you know where to look.
I just found out you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools, maybe even for easier subscription management options.
Be sure to check if you have any active payment methods saved. Sometimes subscriptions auto-renew if payment info is still there.
I used the help chat to ask support about cancelling, they were pretty quick and helped me out to make sure it was done properly.
I accidentally signed up twice and had to cancel one subscription. Support was pretty chill and helped me sort it out fast.
The billing cycle timing is important too. If you cancel mid-cycle, you usually keep access until the period ends, so no rush to cancel instantly if you wanna keep using it a bit longer.
