What's the difference between clearing chat history and resetting the model's memory? Are they the same?
I just clear chat history or use the 'New Chat' button every time I want a fresh start. That seems to work fine for me.
Just to clarify, ChatGPT itself doesn't have long-term memory from session to session unless you save chats, right?
Some AI chat tools actually allow you to disable chat history saving altogether, wonder if ChatGPT will add that soon?
I tried contacting support to ask about deleting memory and they told me to just clear chat history. Seems that's the official way.
Is there a way to make it forget something specific from a chat? Like if you typed sensitive info by accident?
I think in some versions or apps, your chats are automatically deleted after some time, but not sure if that's standard.
Yeah, this has been bugging me too. I think ChatGPT doesn't really store your chat history permanently on its end, but locally it might keep some data? Anyone got the real scoop?
I sometimes worry if the AI keeps data that could be used later. Has anyone read about OpenAI's data policy?
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that might offer better privacy controls or memory management for AI chats.
I heard some folks use incognito mode on browsers to avoid saving chat history locally. Might help with privacy.
Honestly, just don't share anything personal you wouldn't want saved. Best way to keep stuff private for now.
