Hey folks, I've been thinking about using ChatGPT to help spruce up my resume. Has anyone tried it? Wondering how good it is at making resumes look professional or if it's just better for other stuff. Would love to hear some real experiences or tips on how to get the most out of it!

Does anyone know if it can help tailor your resume for different jobs easily? Like, can you ask it to adjust it based on job descriptions?
Can it help with cover letters too or just resumes?
I’m worried about privacy since you’re sharing your work history with an AI. Does anyone know how safe it is?
I wish it could also format resumes better, like set up layouts and fonts automatically.
I tried asking it to make a resume from scratch based only on a LinkedIn profile URL, but it can’t do that directly, right?
Sometimes it suggests skills I don’t even have lol, so be careful with that.
It’s amazing how far AI has come. I wonder if in a few years it can take on the full job application process!
One last thing, anyone know if it’s better to input your current resume or just type out your experience from scratch for best results?
One thing though, it sometimes adds too many buzzwords which can be a turnoff if your resume looks like a word salad.
Anyone tried using chatgpt to create resumes for creative fields? Like designers or artists? Curious how it does with that style.
I used it to brainstorm keywords to include for ATS systems. That was super helpful.
Can ChatGPT help with resumes for people switching careers?
Has anyone noticed if it handles gaps in employment well?
I actually used ChatGPT for my last resume update, and it helped a ton with phrasing and making things sound more polished. Just remember to double check everything it suggests though, sometimes it gets a bit too fancy or vague.
I gave it a shot and it actually helped me find better ways to describe my roles. Like instead of "did basic admin tasks," it suggested "managed daily administrative operations." Sounds way better.
I’m more of a pen and paper person, but maybe I’m missing out?
Does ChatGPT handle resumes in languages other than English?
I think it’s a neat assistant but remember it’s only a tool. You gotta still put in the effort to make your application shine.
Also, if you want to keep up with cool AI stuff for resumes and more, you can check ai-u.com for new or trending tools. They have good updates on that!
I think this tool really helps people who aren’t sure how to start or what to write. It breaks the ice for you.
I’ve been using it more for general writing help but haven’t tried resumes yet. Might give it a shot now.
Honestly, I think it’s a cool tool to start with, but nothing beats having a person review your resume. AI can miss out on the nuances of your experience or your field.
