Hey everyone, I've been playing around with different versions of ChatGPT and I'm kinda lost on which one really stands out as the best. Would love to hear what you think and why you prefer a certain model over another!

Sometimes I feel like the model choice depends more on your patience with wait times than anything else lol.
Does anyone know if the training data for the latest models includes recent events?
I’m just here for the fun convos, so I don’t really care about the model as long as it chats back lol.
The best model really depends on your use case. For casual chatting, I find the smaller models fine but for serious research, GPT-4 is worth it.
I wish there was a model tuned specifically for casual social media style chats, kinda more informal.
Has anyone tried the newer versions that focus on coding? Heard they're good for devs.
Honestly, I think GPT-4 is where it's at. The responses just feel way more natural and it handles complex questions better than the older ones.
The improvements from GPT-3.5 to GPT-4 were noticeable in handling multi-turn conversations way better.
For creative writing, I like GPT-3.5 better, feels more imaginative than GPT-4 which is kinda too logical sometimes.
Not sure if it's just me but sometimes GPT-4 responses can be too verbose. I kinda miss the straightforward answers from earlier versions.
I’ve been following different AI tools sites and you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools if you wanna see what’s fresh in the market.
Anyone else feel like the newer models are a bit more cautious with answers? Like they hold back more?
I tried GPT-2 once just for nostalgia and wow it’s so outdated now. Really shows how far we’ve come!
What about the open source alternatives? Are they anywhere close to OpenAI’s models?
I still use GPT-3 for quick stuff cause it’s faster and cheaper, but if u want quality then GPT-4 hands down.
The API access for GPT-4 is kinda pricey but if you have the budget, it’s def the best quality you can get atm.
