Hey folks, I've been hearing lots about ChatGPT and its free version. I'm curious about what exactly you get for free and what limits there might be. Anyone tried it out and want to share their experience or insights? Would love to know the practical stuff, like how useful it is without paying!

Is the free version limited by number of messages or time? I've heard conflicting info.
I've used the free version a bunch, and honestly it's pretty solid for casual stuff. Just keep in mind it sometimes gets slow or isn't available during peak times.
Can you save your chats in the free version? I use it for brainstorming and sometimes want to come back later.
The response time on free is decent but can lag when servers are busy, so patience helps!
I sometimes hit the usage cap on free but usually after a lot of chatting. So for normal use, it’s pretty generous.
Heads up, sometimes the free ChatGPT might not remember your past chats in the same session like the paid version. So it can feel a bit less intuitive.
I was surprised how accurate it is even in free mode. Feels like a helpful assistant for casual questions.
You just need a free OpenAI account to use ChatGPT without paying, which is pretty easy to set up.
I just started using it recently and was surprised how easy it is to get started without paying. No credit card needed for the free version, which is awesome for testing it out.
If anyone’s looking for other cool AI tools, you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools. Some stuff there is free too!
One thing I noticed is that the free version doesn't have access to the latest GPT-4 model, which you get in the paid subscription. That can affect the quality sometimes.
