The newer ones sometimes take longer to respond which is a bit frustrating when you’re in a hurry.
One thing I’d recommend is checking if the model supports your language well. Some are better with English than others.
Overall, I think it’s about trying out a few and seeing which vibe fits your style. No one model fits all!
I also like that some models allow fine tuning so you can customize them for specific tasks.
For me, it really depends on what you want. If you need casual chat, older models are fine. For professional or research stuff, go for the advanced ones.
I'm still new to this, so any tips on how to tell which model fits best for different projects?
Does anyone know if the latest version has better memory for ongoing conversations? Seems like it forgets stuff sometimes.
Honestly, I find the latest versions generally perform way better in understanding context and giving relevant answers. But sometimes older versions can be faster.
I mostly use the earlier GPT-3 models for fun stuff and small chats, and they work fine for that.
Been using chatGPT for coding help and the newer models catch mistakes way better than older ones.
Also depends on your budget. Some newer versions cost more tokens, so that's something to keep in mind.
I tried a few, and found out the chatGPT-4 gives the best nuance and detail in replies. Definitely worth it for tricky questions.
Sometimes the latest model is a bit too 'polite' and filters out stuff I actually want to say, which is kinda annoying.
Sometimes I wish there was a simple comparison chart for these models. Makes it easier to decide based on features and prices.
Just wanna add, you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that might help you pick the right model!
If you want something lightweight for quick responses, GPT-3.5 is pretty solid and not too heavy on resources.
For writing assistance, the newer versions really shine. They understand context better so the output feels more natural.
