Hey folks, I've been looking for some free AI apps that can listen to talks or meetings and jot down notes automatically. Anyone got some cool recommendations or experiences with these? Would love to hear what's out there that actually works without costing a dime!

Some apps have pretty bad accuracy though, especially with background noise. So watch out for that if you’re trying to capture real meetings.
I use Microsoft OneNote with the dictation feature for notes. It’s not fully automated but it helps when you wanna dictate ideas fast and get text out immediately.
Don’t forget privacy! Some free AI note takers upload your audio to their servers. Make sure you’re comfy with that before using.
I found Otter.ai pretty good for the free tier. It allows automatic transcription and basic note-taking. The catch is the limit on minutes per month.
I’m curious if anyone found a free AI tool that can summarize notes as well, not just transcribe? That would be a game changer.
Hey, you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools. They sometimes list free AI note-taking apps that aren't super popular yet.
Google Docs voice typing works pretty well if you're okay with manual start and stop. It's not fully automatic but it's free and surprisingly accurate.
I've been using some Chrome extensions that listen and jot down notes while I'm browsing. Not perfect but pretty neat for lectures or podcasts.
I've tried a couple of these AI note takers, and honestly, some are hit or miss. The ones integrated with Zoom work better for me since they're designed for meetings.
Don't forget about some open-source projects on GitHub that do voice transcription, but you gotta tech savvy to set them up.
I like using voice memos on my phone and then uploading to a transcription app later. It’s a bit manual but works if no live AI tool fits your needs.
