I tried uploading a PDF through chat, but it just doesn’t accept files. Gotta copy text or use summaries.
Just a heads up, ChatGPT itself doesn’t store or access your PDFs, so any upload has to be done externally.
I use a script that extracts PDF text and then sends it to ChatGPT, works pretty well.
It would be cool if ChatGPT just let us upload PDFs and handled everything automatically.
I tried uploading a PDF to ChatGPT on mobile, but it just won’t accept any file formats.
Would love if in future ChatGPT could summarize PDFs you upload directly, that’d be sweet.
Maybe it’s better to convert PDFs to Word docs first and then copy text from there?
I wish there was a straightforward way to just toss in PDFs directly. Copying text always messes the layout.
I heard some folks use third-party apps that convert PDFs to text and then feed it to ChatGPT, kinda a two-step process.
I've tried uploading PDFs directly but ChatGPT doesn't support file uploads yet. You might want to copy and paste text instead.
Does anyone know if ChatGPT Plus offers any more file handling options?
I’ve seen some people use GPT-based apps that specifically handle PDFs better. Anyone tried those?
Until then, looks like copy-pasting text or using converters is the way to go.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools, sometimes they feature stuff that works with PDFs and ChatGPT.
I’m curious if anyone tried uploading PDFs in GPT-4 via API? Maybe that’s possible?
I use some Chrome extensions that allow uploading PDFs and then extract text to send to ChatGPT, pretty handy.
Not sure if it's officially supported, but I think some plugins or extensions might allow PDF uploads.
Honestly, the best workaround I found is using OCR apps to convert scanned PDFs into text and then paste it in.
The best bet for now is to break PDFs into chunks and feed them piece by piece for analysis.
