Hey folks, been wondering lately if anyone's tried putting entire textbooks into ChatGPT. Like, can you just upload them and have it help you study or explain stuff? Would love to know how that works or if it's even doable. Thanks!

I found a tool that links GPT with pdfs, kinda like uploading textbooks indirectly. It’s a bit technical tho.
Learning AI tech myself, and yeah no direct upload is a thing yet. But you can integrate GPT with other tools to analyze txt files outside the chat.
I read somewhere you can't straight up upload files, but you can feed it excerpts. It's kinda limited by token size tho.
Anyone tried using GPT with OCR tech to upload scanned textbook pages? Curious about how that works.
Would love to see a feature where you upload and GPT summarizes entire textbook chapters automatically.
I guess for now you gotta just copy and paste. Hope they add upload soon tho, would save tons of time.
For anyone interested, you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools, some might help with doc uploads.
I’m using a third party app that splits textbooks into flashcards, then I use GPT to explain each card.
Does anyone know if future versions of chatgpt will have textbook upload?
I think the main issue is how to handle such huge texts while keeping the chat responsive.
Honestly, kinda surprised this feature isn’t built in yet. Seems super useful for students.
I tried uploading a textbook PDF to ChatGPT via drag and drop. No luck, lol.
You can try chunking the text and feeding it piece by piece, but yeah, no simple upload feature yet.
If you want the AI to explain stuff from a textbook, just try asking specific questions instead of uploading the whole book.
I've tried copying some textbook chapters into the chat, but it feels kinda clunky. Not sure if there's a better way to upload a whole book tho.
Hoping for a plugin or extension that lets us upload textbooks directly to chatgpt someday.
Would be cool if GPT had some kinda textbook mode where you upload and it keeps track of all chapters for you.
