Hey everyone! Been wondering if the Plus version of ChatGPT actually holds onto more info or if its memory perks are just buzz. Anyone got the scoop on how much longer it remembers stuff compared to the free one? Would love to hear what you've experienced!

Plus is great but be careful with expectations about memory. It’s more like better handling of ongoing chats rather than actual memory storage.
Anyone tried upgrading and noticed zero difference in memory? I switched but didn’t really see anything change in that area.
Would love to have a feature where it remembers my preferences and past chats across sessions.
I've been using the Plus version for a bit now and honestly it feels like it keeps context better during chats. But I think the memory reset still happens after some time, just maybe a bit longer?
I heard rumors about a feature that might remember stuff across chats but haven't seen it officially released yet. Anyone else heard about that?
Honestly, I just upgraded for the faster responses and availability during peak times. Memory stuff is cool but not a deal breaker for me.
I think people confuse the ability to keep longer context in one chat with having more memory overall. ChatGPT Plus lets you have longer conversations without losing context but once the session ends, it forgets everything.
I think the main benefit of Plus regarding memory is the model size and speed, which helps maintain context in complex conversations better.
I've noticed sometimes Plus can hold onto references from earlier messages better, which helps for complicated chats.
I checked a bunch of forums and some folks mention you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools which might have better memory features than ChatGPT Plus currently.
As a developer, I wonder if they plan to implement persistent memory in a way that respects privacy. That’d be a huge challenge!
I guess for now, the takeaway is Plus might help keep chats more coherent while you're using it, but it doesn't really store info for next time.
From what I know, neither free nor Plus actually "remember" past conversations once you close the chat. So no permanent memory difference. But Plus users get better response speed and priority access.
