Hey folks, I've been trying to find some great software to help with video transcription. There are so many options out there and I thought it'd be cool to get some opinions on what actually works well. Anyone got recommendations or tips on tools that make the process easier? Cheers!

You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools, they keep a neat list of the latest AI transcription apps and updates.
I've been using Otter.ai for a while now and it's pretty solid for transcriptions. The accuracy is decent and it handles different accents fairly well.
Rev.com is good if you want human-checked transcripts, they’re accurate but can get pricey if you have loads of footage.
Anyone know if these tools handle accents well? I work with lots of non-native English speakers.
Is it possible to get timestamps in transcripts? I want to link to specific points in my videos.
Some tools also offer speaker identification which is super helpful when you have interviews or group talks.
Not sure if anyone mentioned Happy Scribe yet? It’s pretty good for quick transcriptions and supports a ton of languages.
I found that some tools offer integrations with video editors which streamlines the workflow a ton.
Transcribing manually is such a pain, glad AI is improving this a lot. Saves hours for sure.
I tried Descript and it's amazing for editing video and transcriptions simultaneously. Makes fixing errors super easy!
For free options, I’ve gotten decent results with Google Docs voice typing if you play the audio loud enough.
Anyone tried Sonix? Seems to have good reviews but I haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
Thanks for all the tips folks, gonna try a few of these and see what fits my needs best.
I feel like accuracy depends a lot on audio quality. No tool can magically fix bad sound, so always start with clean audio.
