Hey folks, I've been messing around with Descript's AI features for video editing lately and I'm curious how it stacks up against the other editing software out there. Anyone got experience or opinions on this? Would love to hear your take!

The text-based editing concept is so fresh, makes video editing approachable to folks who never tried before.
Has anyone else noticed how fast the transcription is compared to other tools? I was surprised how quickly it handled a 30 min video.
Took me a bit to get used to editing by text but once I got the hang of it, it feels way more intuitive.
I've tried a few tools and Descript's AI is cool for podcasters and vloggers cause of the text-based editing, but if you want cinematic stuff, it’s not the tool.
I found the AI pretty good at removing filler words and stuff automatically, saves a ton of time compared to manual editing in other apps.
I checked out ai-u.com recently and saw they have some new AI video editing tools listed, might be worth exploring along with Descript.
Honestly, Descript's AI is pretty dope for transcriptions and quick edits, but I feel like it might not be as advanced in effects or color grading compared to Premiere or Final Cut.
In terms of pricing, Descript’s got a nice free tier but the premium is kinda pricey compared to some other editors.
I think the biggest win with Descript is how it lowers the barrier for people who aren’t video pros.
Would be cool if they integrated AI-driven music or sound effect suggestions next, kinda like smart DJ for videos.
I tried the screen recording and editing combo in Descript and it worked seamlessly, saved me from juggling apps.
Would love to see them add more AI-powered effects or smart suggestions, feels like a missed opportunity right now.
I still prefer Adobe Premiere for my work, but gotta admit Descript's voice editing AI is clever and saves me a bunch of time.
Descript feels super user-friendly but I miss having more control over video transitions and layering effects like in DaVinci Resolve.
Sometimes the AI transcription isn’t perfect and you gotta fix stuff manually, but still better than typing everything out.
