I tried adding it but it keeps saying the extension isn't compatible with my Chrome version. Anyone knows why?
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who shared tips here! Made it way easier for me.
One thing to remember is that the extension might get updates, so keep it updated regularly.
Does anyone know if the ChatGPT extension needs an account login?
Make sure your Chrome isn't managed by your work or school, sometimes they block extensions.
If you don’t see the extension after adding, try checking the puzzle icon on Chrome toolbar and pin it to the bar.
I was a bit worried about privacy but read that it doesn’t store your chat history locally.
If you’re new to extensions, just follow the install prompts carefully, it’s pretty user friendly.
I’m on Mac and it worked the same way as on Windows, so no worries about platform.
Can’t wait to explore all the features once I get it installed!
There's also some third-party ChatGPT extensions, but I'd stick with the official one to be safe.
For anyone struggling, try disabling other extensions temporarily, sometimes they conflict.
It’s helpful to restart Chrome after installation just to make sure everything loads fine.
Make sure you check the permissions it asks for before installing. Some extensions can be sneaky with data.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools if you’re into exploring other AI extensions.
Honestly, it's pretty straightforward. Just head to the Chrome Web Store, search for ChatGPT, then click add to Chrome and follow the prompts. Took me like 2 mins.
Extension sometimes needs permissions for certain sites to work, you might have to allow that manually.
I love using it to quickly get answers while browsing. Made my workflow so much faster.
