Uploading Limits on ChatGPT Plus Files

I’m curious if the upload limit is per user or per chat. Like can I start a new chat and upload more files?

Also, is there a difference in limits between ChatGPT free and Plus when it comes to file uploads?

I tried uploading a bunch of files at once and hit a limit pretty quickly. Seems like there's a max number in a single session, not sure the exact count tho.

I accidentally uploaded a huge video file once and it totally failed, so definitely watch out for individual file size limits too.

From what I've read, ChatGPT Plus doesn't officially state a max file number but does have a total size cap per interaction. So bigger files might reduce how many you can upload.

I just uploaded 15 small text files without any issue, so I guess small files can go higher in number before hitting limits.

I think it also depends if the files are being uploaded in one go or over multiple interactions. The limits might reset per session?
