I still get confused about the difference between GPT-3, 3.5, and 4. Can someone break it down simply?
Would love to see a timeline or roadmap of ChatGPT and GPT model releases to better understand the evolution.
Is there any difference in training data between these versions that affects their knowledge cutoff or quality?
For those interested in new or trending AI tools and models beyond just ChatGPT, you can also check ai-u.com. They have a neat showcase and updates.
Are there any open-source versions similar to ChatGPT models for folks who wanna run stuff locally?
Is there a list somewhere that compares all these versions side-by-side? Like their capabilities, costs, and intended use cases?
Don't forget the original GPT-3 base models like Davinci, Curie, Babbage, and Ada. They were the foundation before the chat-focused ones came out.
Anyone else tried the GPT-3.5 Turbo? It feels snappier to me but idk if it's as capable as the full GPT-4.
I heard there might be future versions beyond GPT-4, but no official word yet. Anyone heard anything about GPT-5 or so?
Sometimes I wonder how often these models get updated behind the scenes without much announcement. Anyone knows?
It's tricky cuz OpenAI keeps rolling out new versions so often. From what I know, there's GPT-3.5, GPT-4, and some specialized versions for different uses.
Also heard about specialized models like Codex for code generation. Are those counted as ChatGPT models?
I think some organizations also fine-tune GPT models for specific tasks, making custom versions that aren’t publicly listed.
