Hey folks, I've been wondering how to handle private stuff when using ChatGPT. Like, is it cool to share confidential info or should we avoid that all together? Just wanna make sure I don't mess up any privacy rules or leak something important. Would love to hear how you guys deal with this stuff!

Honestly, I wish there was an easy way to just toggle a 'private mode' where nothing gets stored or used for training.
Does anyone know if these chats are encrypted or how secure the connection is?
I read somewhere that OpenAI doesn’t use your inputs for training unless you say so, but still, I wouldn’t share stuff like passwords or private documents here.
Just remember, no AI can guarantee 100% security, so use your own judgment when sharing info.
If you’re worried, you can always run open-source versions of GPT on your own hardware for max control.
Honestly, I try to avoid sharing anything super sensitive on ChatGPT. Even tho it feels like a private convo, better safe than sorry, you know?
If you have to discuss sensitive info, maybe anonymize it first? Like replace names and locations with placeholders.
I’ve heard people use chatbots for sensitive customer support, but I guess they have special setups and contracts?
Sometimes I just test with fake info to see how the AI responds, that way there's no risk if something slips out.
I think it’s all about trust. If your company or project has strict rules, just don’t use chatbots for anything confidential at all.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending AI tools that might have better privacy features if confidentiality is a big concern.
For me, I just treat ChatGPT like a tool for brainstorming or learning, never for storing or processing confidential info. That way I don’t worry about leaks.
I feel like people don’t realize that typing private info might be stored somewhere. Always double-check terms before sharing!
