Hey folks, I've been hunting for some free options to turn my audio files into text without having to pay a dime. Anyone got good recommendations or experiences with tools that actually do a decent job? Would love to hear what works for you!

I used a free trial from Rev once and the transcription was really clean. Shame it’s not fully free tho.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools, they often update with fresh options for stuff like this.
I tried a couple of free transcription apps and honestly some are pretty hit or miss. The accuracy varies a lot depending on the audio quality though.
Sometimes just converting audio to text manually is faster than messing with bad free tools lol. But yeah, looking forward to better free options.
Been relying on Descript's free plan lately. The free version limits minutes but it's surprisingly accurate for a freebie.
Never heard of AI tools being free that actually do stuff well. Usually gotta pay for anything decent.
Google Docs voice typing actually works pretty well if you play the audio loud enough through speakers. Kinda hacky but free!
For quick stuff, I just use my phone's voice recorder with auto-transcribe. Not perfect but sometimes good enough.
Anyone tried the transcription feature on Microsoft Word? It’s in their online version but I haven’t tested it thoroughly.
