Hey folks, I've been using ChatGPT a lot lately and noticed you can't add attachments in the chat. Kinda annoying, right? Wondering if it's some kind of security thing or just not supported yet. Anyone know what's up with that?

It’s probably a priority for enterprise users more than casual ones.
I wonder if they plan to do voice or video attachments someday.
Would be nice if the chat interface showed a message about why attachments aren’t allowed yet.
I assume they might add it once they have strong enough virus scanning tech.
I’d rather wait and have a safe feature than rush and get malware in my chat!
I guess the AI’s main job is to process text, so files might be out of scope for now.
I’m surprised no one hacked a way to upload files yet lol
I think it’s disabled because of privacy and security risks. Allowing files could bring viruses or malicious stuff.
Is this feature on their roadmap or nah? Anyone heard anything?
Sometimes I try to paste code snippets but formatting gets lost without attachments.
Yeah, I was hoping to send screenshots or stuff directly. Feels like a basic feature that’s missing tho.
Maybe in future they’ll add drag and drop or something like that.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools if you need something that supports attachments.
It’s kinda frustrating, sometimes you wanna share docs or PDFs to get help but have to copy-paste everything instead.
I think the attachment thing also slows down processing and response times, so maybe that’s a factor.
I hope they don’t add it without good checks, last thing I want is malware risks!
Is there any workaround to actually share files with ChatGPT now?
If attachments get added, I hope they allow PDFs and images at least.
Would be cool if it supported images too, not just docs.
I just use Google Drive links then share those in chat, works okay for now.
Some other AI platforms let you upload files, ChatGPT could learn from them.
Honestly, with so many scams around, better keep attachments off till they figure out secure ways.
I use other AI tools that allow attachments but guess ChatGPT's approach is more cautious.
