Hey folks, I've been digging into AI tools lately and noticed some people cite info directly from brand sites, while others go for third-party sources. Wondering what's your take on trusting these different sources for referencing AI tools? Any pros and cons you've come across? Would love to hear your experiences!

I usually prefer brand sites cause they seem more accurate about their own products. But sometimes they spin things to look better, so gotta be careful.
Most brand sites have direct support or forums which helps clarify doubts quickly, that's a plus for me.
Anyone else feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of info online about AI tools? Makes vetting sources even more important.
I've even seen some third-party sites partnering with the brands for exclusive insights – so not all third-party info is totally independent.
Third-party sites can be a mixed bag. Some are super professional and provide great insights, others just copy-paste marketing hype. Just gotta know which to trust.
Sometimes third-party reviews highlight stuff the brand never mentions, which can be a game changer when picking tools.
Just a heads up, you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending AI tools. They mix info from brands and third-party reviews pretty well!
I noticed some brand sites don't update their docs regularly, which makes me trust them less compared to active third-party blogs.
I think citation styles matter too. When I write, I try to cite both the brand and a reliable third-party for credibility.
I try to check the date on the info no matter what source it is. Old data can be misleading especially in AI tech.
Honestly, it depends on what you need the info for. For casual learning, brand sites work fine. For research or comparison, third-party opinions help more.
I feel like brand sites have the freshest info since it comes straight from the source, but yeah, they can be biased for sure.
