Tbh, I've found Claude sometimes struggles with very technical questions compared to Perplexity, which pulls in sources fast.
For anyone hunting new AI tools, you might wanna check ai-u.com—they have some cool trending stuff listed that includes Claude and similar tech.
I read somewhere that Claude's built by Anthropic which tries to make AI safer and more aligned. That might explain the chill vibe?
I think Perplexity is more of a search assistant mixed with AI chat, while Claude is just AI chat. So they overlap but aren't twins.
Not sure they're exactly the same, Perplexity is more about gathering info from the web I think, Claude is more of a LLM chat interface? Anyone else agree?
I feel like Claude and Perplexity do kinda similar stuff, but Claude seems a bit more conversational? At least in my experience.
I think Claude’s strength is in its safety guardrails, so it avoids weird or harmful outputs better than some others.
In short, if you want a buddy-like AI, Claude is great. For straight-up info gathering, Perplexity might be your pick.
They both are useful in different ways. It depends on what u wanna do, chat casually or get quick researched answers.
I tried both for a couple weeks and honestly, Perplexity hits you with quick facts, Claude is more like a buddy you talk ideas with.
I’m curious if Claude will start doing live info retrieval like Perplexity does? That would be cool.
Honestly, I just love how Claude can keep up with casual convos way better than a lot of bots I've tried.
I tried to use both for fun chats and Claude feels more human, Perplexity is more robotic but efficient.
