Hey folks, I've been wondering if profs can actually tell when you use ChatGPT for assignments or papers. Like, is there some kinda way they detect it, or is it all good as long as you just tweak stuff? Would love to hear your experiences or any tips on this!

Some profs just ask questions in class about your paper to see if you really understand it. That’s a good way to catch AI use I guess.
I've heard some profs use specific software that can check if the text is AI-generated. So yeah, it's kinda risky to just copy-paste stuff directly from ChatGPT without making changes.
I think being honest with your instructor about using AI tools is becoming the best approach especially with how common it is now.
I've seen some classmates get called out for plagiarism when they basically copy-pasted AI answers. So yeah, watch out!
Honestly, I've used ChatGPT to help structure my essays and then rewrote everything in my own words. So far, no issues.
Some profs don’t even bother checking for AI, they care more about if you understand the material or not.
Honestly, I think professors mostly check if the work sounds like you or not. If you're suddenly writing super fancy stuff, they might get suspicious.
My prof said he can usually tell if ChatGPT was used because the writing sometimes lacks personal anecdote and specific examples.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that might help you blend AI output better or check for detection.
My teacher said if your writing style suddenly changes dramatically, that’s a red flag for them.
I don’t think it’s about catching you but more about academic honesty. Using ChatGPT is fine if you mention it, IMO.
