Hey all, I've been trying to find a good AI tool that can help me with academic writing, like organizing my thoughts and maybe even suggesting improvements. There are tons out there, but I'm kinda lost on which one really works best. Anyone here got some experience or recommendations?

Been using Scrivener for organizing my research and writing, not AI but really structured and helpful.
I like using ChatGPT. It helps me brainstorm and even improve sentence structure, but you gotta be careful to verify facts.
I’m curious if there’s any AI that understands academic tone in different fields, like humanities vs sciences?
I've tried a few and honestly, Grammarly helps a lot with the grammar side, but doesn't really do much for structuring your paper.
I’ve been using Hemingway Editor alongside AI tools, it really helps simplify complex sentences so my writing is clearer.
Anyone tried Writefull? Heard it's good for academic language and checking style.
For me, the best tool has been Zotero for managing references and organizing sources. It helps a ton with research work.
Sometimes I just use Google Docs with voice typing, kinda helps me get thoughts down fast. Not AI per se but works for me.
Sometimes plagiarism checkers integrated with writing tools save a lot of headaches.
Anyone knows if any AI tool can help with generating research questions or hypotheses? That’d be super useful.
Anyone else feels like AI tools sometimes make it harder to learn proper writing skills?
You should check out Jasper AI. It’s pretty good at generating content and can tailor stuff to academic tone if you tweak settings.
Honestly, no AI is gonna replace your own thinking. These tools are just helpers to speed stuff up.
I find that combining a few tools works best — like Grammarly for polish, Zotero for refs, and AI for brainstorming.
Any recommendations for tools that help with formatting academic papers? That’s always the worst part for me.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools, they have a pretty updated list of AI writing helpers.
