Hey all, I've been trying to find some solid AI-based image generators that don't cost a dime. There's a bunch out there but it's hard to tell which ones are actually worth using. Anyone got recommendations or personal favorites that are free? Would love to hear your thoughts!

One thing I noticed is that some free tools still require signups or impose daily limits, which can get annoying if you’re in a creative flow.
Can’t forget about Google's Deep Dream. It’s more of a trippy style but totally free and open for anyone to try.
I used Runway ML's free tier for a bit. Not bad at all for basic image generation and video too. Worth checking out!
If you want variety, give Artbreeder a try. It lets you morph images and create new ones using AI for free, up to a certain limit. Really fun for experimenting!
For anyone starting out, I’d recommend trying a few free tools to see which interface and style you vibe with before thinking about paid upgrades.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools, they keep a nice list updated with free and paid options. Helped me find a couple cool ones recently.
Some apps like Dream by Wombo are fun and free with basic features. They generate cool stuff fast but sometimes the output can be hit or miss.
I've tried a couple and honestly, some free ones are surprisingly good! The trick is to find the ones that let you use decent resolution without paying. Pixlr and Deep Dream Generator come to mind for me.
I hope more free AI image generators pop up soon, the tech is so cool but often locked behind paywalls.
Check out DeepAI’s image generator - pretty straightforward and no frills, plus free.
I tried out NightCafe too, their free credits last a bit and the community is pretty active.
I think it depends on what you want to create - some tools are better for realistic images, others for surreal or abstract stuff.
Honestly, some open source options are good if you’re a bit tech savvy. Like Stable Diffusion, you can run it locally for free with some setup.
Also, keep in mind some free AI image generators might reuse your prompts or creations for training, so check privacy before uploading sensitive stuff.
