Honestly, I ended up just deleting the app and figured that was enough. But I guess that doesn’t really delete your account, right?
If you have 2FA enabled, make sure you have your codes ready before deleting your account. It might ask for verification.
Is there a way to delete the account from the website instead? I don’t really wanna mess with the iPhone app.
Took me a while but finally found the delete option under Privacy settings inside the app profile menu.
Is it possible to pause or deactivate the account instead of deleting it? Just curious if that’s an option.
Took me a bit to figure out you gotta confirm account deletion via an email link too. Don’t skip that step or it won’t work.
I wish there was a quick shortcut in the app to delete your info. Seems like a hassle for no reason.
For anyone worried about privacy, make sure to also revoke any linked apps or services connected to your ChatGPT account.
I was kinda lost at first too. You gotta go into the app settings and look for account options, then there's a delete option but it's hidden in one of the submenus. Took me a while to find it lol.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools – sometimes they cover how account deletions work across different apps, pretty handy!
The process varies slightly depending on app version, so keep your app updated before trying to delete your account.
I accidentally deleted my account and now can’t recover chats. So be sure before you hit that button!
Don’t forget that even after deleting your account, you might still get marketing emails unless you unsubscribe separately.
Maybe they should make a tutorial video on account deletion. Would save everyone some headache.
I’m also curious if deleting the account removes all chat history or if some stuff stays on their servers?
Anyone tried contacting their support for account deletion? How was the response time?
