Hey folks, I've been wondering if it's cool or even possible to share a ChatGPT subscription with my family? Like, can multiple people use the same account or do we each need our own? Would love to hear how you all handle this or if there's a legit way to do it without breaking rules. Thanks!

I tried using the same login on my phone and laptop at the same time and it just logged out from one device randomly.
Maybe using chatgpt through different browsers with the same login could work? I haven’t tested it though.
From what I read, OpenAI wants every user to have their own subscription. Sharing might violate their terms and could lead to suspension.
I just share the account with my partner, but we try not to be online at the same time. It works okay so far, but yeah it’s a bit inconvenient.
Sometimes I just give my family members my login temporarily when I’m not using it. It’s not perfect but works for small stuff.
Yeah sharing is tempting to save money but honestly, having your own subscription keeps things smooth and hassle-free.
If you wanna really share, maybe try contacting support to ask about family options? Could give you official info.
Anyone knows if there’s a family plan coming anytime soon? That would be awesome.
Honestly, I just made separate accounts for my family members. It's easier and you don't have to worry about conflicts or bans.
I tried sharing mine with my partner, but it seemed like only one device could be active at a time. Not sure if that's a limitation or something else.
Sharing with family sounds nice, but I heard some people got their accounts suspended for sharing too widely. So be careful.
I've heard of people sharing passwords but that's kinda risky for security reasons. Not sure I'd recommend it.
I think the best bet is to wait and see if OpenAI offers multi-user or family subscriptions in the future.
