I think a common way is to treat Claude AI like any proprietary software, citing version, company, and access date.
I wonder if future citation standards will have specific rules for AI-generated content and tools.
I just put something like: 'Used Claude AI (Anthropic) for text generation, 2023' in the methodology section, no formal citation.
Anyone knows if you should cite the AI model itself or the platform hosting it?
I usually check if the AI provider suggests a citation format in their docs. Claude AI might have something similar?
I’m still confused if I should put Claude AI under software or as a digital tool in my references.
I think it depends on the style guide you're following — like APA or MLA might have different ways to cite software or AI.
I saw some papers just mention it in the methods section without formal citation, but I’m unsure if that’s enough.
I was told to always check the licensing and terms of use to see if they specify citation requirements.
Whenever I cite AI tools, I try to include the date I accessed them since they update so fast.
I just put it like software in the bibliography, with version and the company name. Something like: Claude AI, Anthropic, 2023. Works fine for me.
Does anyone know if Claude AI has a DOI or any persistent identifier for citation?
Not sure if this helps, but you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools and maybe find citation tips there.
I think just mentioning you used Claude AI and linking to Anthropic’s homepage in footnotes might work for some casual papers.
Does anyone know if there's a recommended citation format on Claude AI’s official docs? I tried looking but didn’t see much.
