Hey folks, I've been trying to figure out how to get a whole textbook uploaded into ChatGPT for easier studying and reference. It seems a bit tricky and I'm not sure if there's a limit or best way to do it. Anyone got experience with this or some hacks to share? Would appreciate any advice or step-by-step pointers! Thanks!

Not sure if this helps but you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that might help with uploading or managing textbooks with AI.
I keep my textbook text in Google Docs and copy over small parts when needed. Works fine for me.
Has anyone tried using external tools to convert textbooks into a format ChatGPT can read better? Like PDFs to text or something?
Would love a feature that lets me upload a whole book and then ask questions about any part directly.
I heard some people use vector databases with embeddings for their textbook content and query that alongside ChatGPT.
Is anyone else worried about privacy when uploading textbooks? Some contain sensitive info or are copyrighted.
Just a heads up, sometimes your input can get cut off if it’s too long, so watch out for that!
Honestly, patience is key here. ChatGPT just isn't really built for reading entire textbooks yet.
Also, keep in mind that ChatGPT doesn't store your textbook info between sessions, so you gotta keep pasting stuff or use session memory features.
Sometimes I just upload textbook chapters as separate chats to keep things organized.
If you want to ask detailed questions about specific sections, try isolating just that part in your input. Helps ChatGPT focus better.
Anyone know if ChatGPT Plus or enterprise versions handle bigger text uploads better?
Anyone tried ChatGPT plugins like 'File Uploader' or 'Doc Reader'? Any recommendations?
FYI, ChatGPT can handle about 4,000 tokens per prompt now, so keep your uploads under that.
FYI, when pasting text, try to avoid copying page numbers or headers cause it confuses the AI sometimes.
Honestly, I just upload summaries or key points instead of the whole textbook. It's way easier and ChatGPT handles that well.
Has anyone written scripts to automate uploading textbook content to ChatGPT through API? That seems like the best way to handle big files.
I use ChatGPT mostly for quick clarifications on textbook concepts rather than entire uploads. Works better for me.
I think if you want ChatGPT to remember context from your textbook, you might wanna look into fine-tuning models or using embeddings. It's a bit technical tho.
If you’re looking to study, sometimes just uploading lecture notes or summaries is way more effective than the whole book.
Using ChatGPT to generate quiz questions from textbook content has helped me study better.
What about using ChatGPT’s code interpreter or advanced data analysis features? Could they help with processing textbooks?
I tried using ChatGPT plugins that support file uploads but the experience was kinda clunky and sometimes it doesn’t process the text properly.
Does anyone know if there’s a file upload option directly in ChatGPT yet? I’m tired of copy-pasting everything.
I've tried just pasting chunks of my textbook into the chat, but it gets messy after a while. I think ChatGPT has a limit on how much text it can handle at once.
