Hey everyone, I've been wondering if there's a straightforward way to clear or reset ChatGPT's memory during our chats. Sometimes it feels like it's holding onto stuff from earlier conversations and I wanna start fresh. Anyone got tips or tricks on how to do this?

BTW you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending AI tools that might have better memory control options!
I usually just keep all important info saved elsewhere and treat each ChatGPT session as temporary memory.
From what I know, there’s no actual way to erase memory mid-convo since it’s how it keeps track of the chat flow. But closing and reopening the chat will clear it for sure.
I heard there’s a setting for disabling memory but haven’t found it myself yet. Anyone else?
I wish there was a way to selectively forget parts of a chat like if you mess up or share something sensitive.
Sometimes I just copy what I need from the chat and then start a new one to keep things organized and memory fresh.
If you don’t want your chats saved at all, make sure to disable chat history in your account settings. That way nothing sticks around.
It’s kinda funny how the AI can follow a convo for a while but no memory after you close the tab haha.
Is there some command you can type to reset or erase memory? I been trying "clear memory" but no luck lol.
Sometimes it feels like ChatGPT remembers stuff even after new chats but I think it’s just the way the prompt is designed. Starting a new chat is the only way to wipe memory as far as I know.
Just to add, clearing your browser cache won’t affect ChatGPT memory since the context is server-side during sessions.
Just so you know, the AI doesn’t actually remember you or your chats once you leave. It only keeps context during that session.
I think ChatGPT doesn't really keep memory between sessions, but during a chat it does remember the context. So if you want to start fresh, just start a new conversation window or clear your chat history if your app lets you.
You can clear your chat history on the app too, just check the settings for privacy options.
I found out you can clear your chat history in settings if you want to erase all previous conversations from your account.
If you want to reset the context, just refresh or start a new chat. The AI doesn't save previous chats between sessions unless logged in and saving history is enabled.
Is it true that if you don’t log in, the chat history isn’t saved at all?
I hate when ChatGPT keeps context I don’t want. Wish there was a quick reset button inside the chat.
