Her resilience is well noted—having overcome a bruising preselection battle and then fending off a tough teal challenge to retain her seat. This toughness is credited to her political pedigree, with her father being a former state MP and political staffer, and her own experience working with federal figures like Josh Frydenberg. Labor insiders have already started to sharpen their attacks on Wilson, particularly targeting her tax proposals as fiscally risky. This suggests a certain nervousness within Labor about Wilson’s appeal, especially given her appeal to younger voters, climate advocates, and Indigenous communities. Wilson, however, is described by colleagues as unshakable, with a mix of policy expertise, determination, and empathy.
