Two dead in road accident in Jharkhand's Latehar

In a tragic incident that unfolded in Jharkhand's Latehar district, two young individuals lost their lives in a road accident on Sunday. The victims, identified as Anuj Oraon, aged 20, from Dahu Bardga village in Chatra district, and Poonam Kumari, 19, from Barhmoreya village, were riding a motorcycle that collided with a roadside tree near Holhepat village. According to police reports, the pair had been returning to Balumath after attending the Balu Jatra Mela when the accident occurred. The officer in charge of Balumath police station, Amrendra Kumar, confirmed that the crash happened in the morning hours. Both victims were rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Balumath, but unfortunately, doctors declared them brought dead upon arrival. The bodies were then transferred to Sadar Hospital in Latehar for post-mortem examinations. Following the completion of the post-mortem, the deceased's bodies were handed over to their respective families. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, with initial findings suggesting loss of control may have led to the motorcycle hitting the tree. Local authorities have expressed condolences to the families and community members affected by this heartbreaking event.
