CraftBot
Why Choose CraftBot?
If your tired of sending sensitive work data off to big tech servers then CraftBot is legit worth a shot. It runs right on your own machine so everything stays private which is a huge deal if you handle confidential projects. Plus since its self hosted you got full control over how it behaves without having to pay monthly fees for cloud credits or worry about data leaks. Whats really setting it apart is that it dont just wait for prompts it actually plans things out for you proactively. The agent loop can initiate tasks based on your goals and even plugs into external apps via MCPs which makes automating daily workflows way easier than standard chat interfaces. Its open source nature means devs can tweak the code to fit thier specific needs instead of being stuck with a closed black box system. Mind ya though this ain't for total beginners since setting up the environment takes some serious linux command line comfort. You gotta be comfortable troubleshooting docker or python envs otherwise you might get stuck during install. But for anyone who wants a true digital assistant that works 24/7 without compromising security its a solid pick despite the steeper learning curve involved.

CraftBot Introduction
What is CraftBot?
CraftBot is a self-hosted proactive AI assistant designed to live right inside your machine and run 24/7 without relyin on external servers. Basically its an autonomous agent that interprets whats needed to hit ur goals then goes ahead and plans actions to finish them for ya. Mainly for productivity nerds and devs who prefer open source tools that stay local plus support MCPs and app integrations. If u’re looking to automate daily tasks while keepin full ownership of yer workflow, this thing fits the bill well enough.
How to use CraftBot?
Alright so first thing is grabbing the code off the repo. Its pretty easy if u got git installed just clone it down and sort out the requirements. Ull need python mostly plus whatever model backends u plan on using since this runs local. Follow the readme real close though, sometimes the env vars get finicky and u dont wanna debug that stuff last minute. Once everything installs smooth, u can fire it up straight away. Next step is tweaking the settings to match what u actually need. Theres a config section where u set your main objectives and let the bot know whats important. It supports MCPs and external tools so u can hook up apps if needed but start simple. Give it some initial tasks so it learns the flow better. Be careful with permissions tho, dont let it access anything critical until u trust the loop works how u expect. Once running its supposed to stay active 24/7 and handle things proactively without constant input. The cool part is it plans actions on its own now. If it gets stuck or hallucinates just adjust the prompt harness inside the files. Its open source so u can change stuff freely if its not fitting ur workflow perfectly. Just keep an eye on it when testing cause once its deep in execution mode its hard to stop quickly lol.
