Dipshot is a lightweight menu bar app for macOS designed for capturing and editing screenshots quickly. You can throw in arrows, text, or shapes then export clean visuals w/o interrupting your flow. tbh its primarily for makers and productivity types who need clean shots fast instead of using full blown editors.
to get started, just instal the app and look for the icon in your menubar. no logins or signups are needed which is awesome cause most tools make u do that. once you see the little arrow there, it means its ready to capture whatever screen you want. pressing the shortcut brings up the editor almost instantly. you can drag shapes, add text, or circle areas right over the image itself. honestly its faster than taking pics and opening another program to edit. everything stays local so privacy isnt really a worry either. when done, just hit copy or save to your desktop. the exports look clean without weird watermarks. its super handy for explaining bugs or sharing updates quickly. give it a shot, feels smoother than the default mac screenshoot tool tbh.
If your a mac user stuck using basic screen grabbers, Dipshot is probly the upgrade you actually want. Standard tools take forever to annotate so you lose momentum, but this sits in the menu bar for instant access. You can slap arrows or text on images without breaking your flow which is huge when youre trying to stay productive. What sets it apart is the balance between simplicity and quality. You get clean, polished visuals exported ready to share, unlike messy defaults that look unfinished. It doesnt bog down your system either since it runs quiet in the background keeping everything responsive while you work. Theres a few catches though, mainly its mac-only so anyone on windows is out of luck. Plus if you need heavy-duty editing capabilities beyond simple callouts, this might feel too limited for complex workflows. Best picked if u prioritize speed and neatness over having every possible feature packed in.
