Honestly, ChatGPT does pretty well with basic math and some algebra but it can mess up on more complicated stuff or tricky word problems.
I was really surprised it could solve some polynomial equations pretty fast. Was not expecting that!
It can do basic arithmetic super fast, but don’t expect it to show step-by-step solutions or proofs like a human teacher would.
If you need really complex math, like integrals or differential equations, I’d recommend using a dedicated math software instead of ChatGPT.
I've found it pretty helpful for checking my homework quick answers but I wouldn’t rely on it fully for advanced math classes.
Using it for quick mental math checks has saved me tons of time, but I still do the double-checking on paper.
I think it shines more when you use it to brainstorm math concepts or ideas rather than crunch numbers.
Sometimes it confuses numbers or forgets order of operations in longer calculations, so double-check anything important!
I asked it to solve some statistics problems and it was surprisingly decent, though I’m no expert to verify everything.
I tried asking it some tricky math riddles and some it got right, others it totally flopped on. Kinda hit or miss honestly.
Tried it on some geometry problems, it can describe formulas but sometimes misses applying them correctly.
Sometimes the formatting of math expressions it gives is kinda confusing, wish it had better display options.
If you want to learn math, it’s a great tool to ask questions and get explanations in plain English.
For quick addition or subtraction, it’s solid, but don’t ask it to do your taxes or complex financial math yet!
ChatGPT’s not really designed as a calculator, so I think it gets math 'good enough' for most casual uses, but it’s no replacement for calculators or math tutors.
I wonder if future AI models will merge language and math skills better. That’d be awesome!
One thing I like is how it can help explain math concepts in simple terms even if it can’t always do the calculations perfectly.
It’s definitely improved over time with math questions, but still not perfect especially with multi-step problems.
