Hey folks, I've been trying out a bunch of AI coding assistants lately and wanna share my thoughts. Some seem to be better on certain languages or tasks, but it's kinda tricky to pick the best overall. Anyone else done some tests or have favs? Would love to hear how you guys rate them!

I've tried a few and honestly some AI helpers are way better with Python than JS. The code completion feels more natural on one rather than the other.
I feel like some AI coding tools are better at explaining the code they generate than others. Which do y'all think is best for learning?
One thing I noticed is that some AI assistants can generate code faster but the quality isn’t always there. Speed over accuracy can be annoying.
Anyone done a side-by-side speed test? Like, time to complete a feature with AI vs without? That’d be interesting data.
I find that the best AI coding assistants have good community support and frequent updates. It really makes a difference.
I'm mostly using these AI helpers for boilerplate code and testing stuff. For complex logic, I still prefer writing myself.
Been testing a few open-source AI coding tools and honestly, some match commercial ones in quality. Surprising!
Sometimes I wish these AI assistants could debug code too, not just write it. That'd be a game changer.
Sometimes these tools suggest stuff that feels off or outdated though, like they pull from old libs or methods. Anyone else notice that?
I've been checking out some benchmarks online and found that the newer versions of these tools are closing the gap big time. It's wild how fast they improve.
I’ve noticed some tools integrate better with cloud environments and remote repos. That’s a huge plus for me.
I stumbled across ai-u.com recently, they have a nice list of trending AI coding assistants and benchmarks. Worth a peek if you wanna stay updated.
Has anyone tried combining AI tools with traditional IDE plugins? I feel like that might give the best of both worlds.
