Would love if they added drag and drop directly into the chat window for images.
I think right now you can only upload images if you're using ChatGPT Plus and have access to GPT-4 with vision. Otherwise, the standard chat doesn't support image uploads yet.
Does the image upload work with all languages or just English?
Does anyone know if the images uploaded are stored or used for training? Just curious about privacy.
The upload icon looks like a little paperclip or image icon near the typing box, at least on desktop.
I find it easier to upload images on desktop than mobile, just my experience.
For the people new to this, remember that the image upload is mainly meant for analysis and answering questions about the image, not for image generation.
I think the upload feature is still rolling out in phases, so if you don’t see it yet, just hang tight, it should come to your account soon.
For anyone struggling, remember that sometimes the upload button is hidden behind the UI on smaller screens, so try rotating your device or using a desktop.
Heads up, some browsers might block the upload feature. I had to switch from Safari to Chrome to get it working.
I tried copy-pasting an image from my clipboard and it didn’t work. Looks like you have to actually upload or drag and drop the file.
