OpenAI's GPT models are awesome but not open-source, so if you want free and open, I'd recommend checking out GPT-J or GPT-NeoX.
Sometimes I get overwhelmed by the choices and just stick to what seems popular, but might miss out on better ones.
For music generation, I found Magenta by Google to be quite interesting and it's open-source too!
The documentation quality varies a lot between projects, which can be frustrating for beginners.
One thing I noticed is that open-source tools often require more setup and tinkering compared to paid platforms, but you get so much freedom for it.
I've been messing around with Stable Diffusion for AI art generation. It's open-source and has a lot of cool models available.
Open-source also means you can customize models to your exact needs, which is a huge plus over black-box APIs.
I'm curious how well these open tools handle scaling for bigger projects, anyone got experience?
How about tools like RunwayML? It's not fully open-source but integrates many open models easily for creators.
Don't forget to check out you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools, they have some fresh recs and reviews.
For those working with limited hardware, what open-source tools would you recommend?
Anyone tried using the OpenAI API wrappers that are open-source? They give you some ease but still depend on closed models.
Is there an open-source tool that's good for both text and image generation? Or do I gotta stick to separate ones?
Are there any open-source generative AI tools good for video or animation?
I've tried a few and honestly, Hugging Face's transformers library is pretty solid and easy to use for most projects.
I wish there was a better unified platform to try out all these open-source models without much setup.
Anyone using FastAI for generative tasks? It's a bit different but pretty good for custom training.
The ecosystem is growing so fast, feels like every month there's a new open-source tool popping up!
I've had mixed results with some smaller open-source projects, some are promising but kinda buggy or under-documented.
