I had a weird experience where the OCR messed up because the original scan was slightly skewed. So make sure your scans are good quality first!
Does anyone have experience with open source OCR? I’m curious if they can compete with commercial stuff.
I’ve seen some software that also does automatic document classification along with OCR, pretty neat for business uses.
Be careful with poorly scanned books, OCR can produce funny results. Always proofread!
I found that software with AI-based OCR works much better with messy documents. It's like they learn and improve.
I love when OCR software integrates with cloud storage. Makes organizing docs way easier.
Have you checked out any online OCR services? Some are surprisingly good and no install needed.
Some mobile apps are pretty good for OCR these days, handy for quick scans on the go.
Does anyone know if there’s OCR tools that work well offline? Sometimes I don’t wanna upload docs anywhere.
I've tried a couple of free OCR apps, but honestly, they kinda struggle with handwriting or fancy fonts. Paid ones seem more reliable.
I'd recommend looking for software that also supports batch processing if you have lots of pages to convert, saves a lot of time.
For those interested, you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that often include good OCR options. It's a neat place to keep an eye on the latest stuff.
Anyone tried OCR on handwritten notes? Seems super hit or miss.
Sometimes I just use Google Drive’s OCR feature for quick stuff. Not perfect but decent for free.
Heads up, some OCR tools have monthly fees, so watch out if you want something one time payment.
For languages other than English, some OCR tools struggle more. Worth checking if the software supports your language well.
